Things to do @ Snowcial if you don’t Ski or Snowboard

Snowcial is about more than just skiing and riding, and every year we have a few attendees who don’t ski or snowboard. But that’s not an excuse to stay off the mountain. Heavenly Mountain Resort has fun stuff to do even if you’re not a snow slider.

One To One Interactive @ Snowcial

Heavenly Gondola

The Heavenly Gondola is a breathtaking ride from South Lake Tahoe @ Heavenly Village, a short stroll west from Harveys. The ride takes about 12 minutes to cover the 2.4 miles up to 9,123 feet. Tickets and info here.

The Gondola hugs the mountian to gain shelter in the trees from the notorious Tahoe wind, but the views from the cabins are unbelievable. As the ride nears the top you have views of the Lake Tahoe Basin that make an iMax movie look like iPod Nano.

The Deck

The first stop is The Deck. A 14,000 square foot station with an observation platform, coffee shop and gift shop. Stop here on the way up as the gondola does not stop here on the way down.

Adventure Peak

The top of the gondola is where it’s at. Brand new this year is the Tamarack Lodge, opening well ahead of schedule. It’ll have 484 indoor seats, 250 outdoor seats, dining, refreshments and awesome mountain views.

Tubing

Snowcialites had a blast last year rocking the Tubing hill. The tubing run is a speedy 500 foot slide in a fast inner tube. No hiking either, they have a covered moving sidewalk to get you to the top.

The tubing is really fun, even for us die hard skiers and riders. So don’t pass up an opportunity to hit it!
